Bussokuseki — A Gentle Footprint for Mindful Days
Inspired by Bussokuseki—the Buddha’s sacred footprint—this design invites you to slow down and walk mindfully. The Dharma Wheel symbolizes peace, clarity, and grounded living—a quiet footprint of calm for everyday life.
What is Bussokuseki?
Bussokuseki (literally “Buddha’s footprint”) is an ancient symbol carved in stone,
representing the footprints of the Buddha himself.
Before people began creating Buddha statues,
they worshiped these footprints as a way to feel the presence of the Buddha —
as if he had just walked among them.
At the center of the sole, you’ll often find a sacred pattern called the Thousand-Spoked Wheel (Senpukurin),
a symbol of the Dharma — the wheel of truth and enlightenment that keeps turning through time.
Is there any blessing or meaning behind it?
There’s no specific “fortune” or guaranteed power written in scriptures.
Yet, through generations, people have felt that Bussokuseki carries a quiet kind of blessing:
To walk strongly and steadily in life
To step over difficulties and let go of misfortune
To find courage to take the next step forward
To stay grounded and live in the present moment
In that sense, it’s less about receiving something —
and more about remembering to pause, breathe, and look at where you stand.
About GOEN’s Bussokuseki Collection
into a simple, modern design —
a quiet reminder you can carry with you.
Each piece in the Bussokuseki Collection is inspired by that ancient prayer carved in stone:
a mark of footsteps that never fade,
a wish to walk through life with calm and awareness.
It’s not an amulet of luck,
but a gentle companion for those moments
when you just want to feel stillness again.
Bring a quiet footprint into your day
In the rush of daily life, we all need something to remind us to slow down.
This design is our way of sharing that stillness —
a small invitation to step mindfully into the present.
